The Area

Sheffield Lake, Ohio

Sheffield Lake, Ohio is the perfect place to LIVE, WORK & PLAY! Our lots are located only 1/2 mile to the beach within a wonderful public school system and would be a perfect place to raise a family. There are several daycare options in the area from infant to school age, including Kids Academy.

The City of Sheffield Lake is situated on the southern shore of Lake Erie, at the eastern end of an industrial recreation area known as Ohio’s “Golden Crescent.” Thus, this pleasant residential community of approximately 9,500 citizens benefits from its proximity to both work and play while maintaining its distinct, “hometown” character.

Sheffield Lake maintains ten neighborhood parks across the city and five are located on the lake. Parks are open from dawn to dusk throughout the year. Residents are encouraged to visit all of them as each offers unique amenities.

As more people have become interested in walking, biking and enjoying the outdoors, the city has installed trails to make it easier for them to exercise, enjoy nature and visit the lake and the city’s lakefront parks.

Community Day

Sheffield Lake’s annual Community Days is a highlight of Summer. It has been celebrated for more than 50 years. This year’s celebration includes a parade and fireworks.

Organized by the all-volunteer Community Civic Council, the parade offers an opportunity for all residents to either march or watch as dozens of units make their way down Lake Road to Shoreway Shopping Center. The fireworks are guaranteed to be sensational again this year.

The parade has been one of Lorain County’s largest with as many as 70 to 80 marching units in past years. As much as an hour before step off, residents set up lawn chairs along the parade route. Children often sit or stand at the curb, knowing that marchers will throw candy to them from large canvas bags.
